Meet Dr. Silmon
A native of Bossier City, Dr. Silmon graduated from Airline High School and Louisiana State University-Baton Rouge. He attended LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, where he also completed his orthodontic training and certification. In 2004, he was awarded the J. Jerome Hebert Award of Orthodontic Excellence by the Louisiana Dental Association.
Dr. Silmon has been practicing in Shreveport since September 2005. His philosophy is to provide the best quality patient care possibly by creating harmony between function and esthetics. Dr. Silmon is a certified provider of Invisalign, Invisalign Teen, Insigna and Vector Temporary Anchorage Devices. He regularly attends seminars and conferences in order to stay up to date on the latest advances in orthodontics. He is a member of the Insiders group, which is an international organization that is dedicated to innovating and improving on orthodontic products. He is currently a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the Red River Cities Study Club, President of the Northwest Louisiana Dental Association, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Silmon is an active participant in Give Kids a Smile and is a Toothprint provider.
"We want not only to provide the best treatment possible, but an atmosphere that the kids enjoy," he said. "It makes it so much easier on the parents knowing their children have fun during our office visits. I love what I do. I know how fortunate I am to have a job where I can make someone feel better about themselves by giving them a healthy, beautiful smile."
When Dr. Silmon is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife Meredith, their son, Jackson and their daughter, Mary Francis. He also enjoys playing golf, LSU sports and traveling.
